Kids Club Grant Extended!

In November of 2020, Always Hope Ministries was approved for a grant from the Greater Flint Urgent Relief Fund, to begin our first Kids Club! It was a six week pilot program that reached 22 east-side Flint students. After completing the pilot and successfully operating the Kids Club program we applied for an extension of the grant and we were approved!!

What is Kids Club?

The Kids Club program was created to support east-side Flint students with virtual school for two hours, one day, each week. Students are required to preregister and many are transported by the Always Hope van. The Club begins with a fun activity, before having lunch provided by GCCARD. After lunch, leaders are assigned to one or two students depending on the needs of the children. Leaders help children navigate their virtual school program and encourage learning. The Club ends with recess time before the van takes them home. Our leaders are local people who attend our church and parents of the children participating. How cool is that! We are able to invest in our community by paying people from our own church family to help to make a difference! Also parents can be leaders and earn a few bucks to assist our program, while helping their own children!! God has been so good to us.
